Wow. How dare a celebrity tell the truth that breastfeeding twins is hard. It IS hard for some of us, especially when we have gone to specialists to address latching and tried every supplement in the book and nursing weekends and on and on and can still only make enough for half a baby. How dare she be such a judgmental bitch. Oh, wait. That was you.

I agree with you. If moms who were having problems with positioning or latching could just pump their breast milk until they "figured" out how to place the baby properly at the breast, they'd at least be giving their babies the breast milk which is way better than formula. I hate it that some moms give up so easily.

When shopping for a breast pump, you’ll be faced with a number of choices if hand-operated, battery operated, or electric, for instance. Many different brands and models are available to suit varied needs.

Its sad that even "educated" females like angelina are pushing the myth that you can't breast feed twins. If she has nothing good to say then i reccomend that she not say anything at all. Someone of her celebrity has the power to do good - but in this case she has let a lot of breast feeding mothers down.

I have said this repeatedly, but clearly it isn't getting through. I am not judging her for quitting breastfeeding. I am judging her for saying it's too hard to breastfeed twins. Just because it was too hard for her does not mean it's too hard for others... and she has resources that other twin moms do not have who managed to do it successfully. I was not able to breastfeed my first and I certainly understand that sometimes it does not work out. I didn't then proceed to tell everyone it's too hard to do.

you are very judgemental. if 3 months was all she could handle, that's her decision. i have 4 1/2 months twins and have been giving them only breastmilk bottles since they were born and it is exhausting. i know that breast milk is the best for them but to keep up that supply, i literally have to pump all the time. you are very mean and cruel to judge anyone for making the decision to decline to B-feed. people are such b-feeding militants these days. i am so over the judgment. i was formula fed, am healthy as an ox, skinny, had "natural" twins which i carried to term and don't think i suffered any consequences from my exposure to formula. stop being so judgmental. each mom has to make her own choice and trust me, with twins, everything is exponentially harder.

I think it is really uncool to pass judgement on anyone that decides to stop breast feeding when they want to. At least she did for three months!... I commend her. She is a busy woman and does a wonderful service to this world with her charity work, UN work and adoption. Wow... to pass judgement on such a great woman is crazy. She has a ton of kids to take care of. Yes, she does have the money for help but she choses not to... jeez. Every photo I see of her with her children... both her and Brad are holding the kids... NOT NANNY's. They are real parents in Hollywood. Kudos to her for being open and honest. I am on month 3 with breast feeding and I am CONSTANTLY trying to produce more milk with feeding and pumping and diet and I drink a gallon of water a day and I am not producing enough for my child. I am doing everything in my power and I feel really guilty that I have to supplement. Soon I will have to go straight to formula because my breast are just not hacking it. I have been thru LLL and two lactation experts. Some people just don't have the supply and IT'S OKAY. As far as the twins go, I have a friend that has twins with two other children and she is only breast feeding for three months because she can't afford help and can't breast feed all day with two other kids. Get off your high horses and mind your own business.

I know that this is an old post but when I stumbled upon it I felt compelled to respond. I think you lashing out at a woman you don't even know for not breastfeeding--and speaking out about not being able to continue--is just as awful as the people who try to make breastfeeding in public illegal and get breastfeeding pics banned from Facebook. I should hope that anyone stupid enough to reason to themselves "Angelina Jolie didn't breastfeed, so I won't either!" probably doesn't need kids for one thing, since they're obviously equipped with the mental capacity of a middle schooler. That being said, you came across as very judgemental and snide. I know you're giving yourself a huge pat on the back for breastfeeding, and it's certainly well deserved since you're doing a tremendous thing for your child. But as the daughter of a woman who did not breastfeed but was a terrific parent nonetheless, I'm a bit turned off by your holier than thou stance on the subject and that of the other women who have commented. Yes, you all are goddesses or whatever for breastfeeding, congratulations, you may now stare down your noses at the women who for whatever reason rely on formula feeding, including myself in a month when my child is born. I just think it's a bit hypocritical of the breastfeeding community as a whole to attack women who choose not to even though they suffer such attacks on their own feeding preferences and rights. Sorry I've failed all the self righteous women who've gathered here to bash a non breastfeeder; you may begin calling the child protective services on me in January, when my son arrives.

Kelby - this is a fantastic post. I kind of have twins - they're 7 months apart and I nursed them both...it was challenging but amazing. We kept it up for 2.5 years!

I love that you tell her to just be quiet as one of the options. If you're going to be famous you need to understand your affect on people. She went right from not breastfeeding to feeding her kids crap. If I see one more of those Jolie-Pitt kids with their millions of dollars walking around with cheetos and cotton candy - I'm going to scream.

They're humanitarian and green, but they don't see the connection with industrialized, processed, GMO'd food?

Infuriating. Give me 15 minutes with that woman, I'll turn her around.
