I can’t resist a great idea. This is why my About me page makes me look mildly psychotic. But hey, I’m known as the queen type-A mom, so that’s just me. When I first heard about Blog Nosh Magazine, I knew I had to get a bite of that. First of all, it’s the brainchild of the mind behind Velveteen Mind (add her to your feed right now, yo!).

Beyond that, however, I liked the idea of a magazine style blog to serve as the epicenter of the blogosphere. For one thing, I think there are certain old school fools who think blogging isn’t real writing. Well, Blog Nosh is about to truly prove you wrong. Off the top of my head, I can list several amazing writers who are bloggers.

Flash forward to today, and the site launched with quite a buzz. I am one of the esteemed Blog Nosh editors for the geeky-sweet Tech and Metablogging channel. And I’m in some amazing company… I can’t list everyone, but you can see the list of editors. It includes some of my fave bloggers at cool must-read blogs like Crash Test Mommy, This Mommy Gig, Mamma Loves, doobleh-vay, To Think is to Create, so many more I’ve got to just stop.

If you’re still wondering what exactly Blog Noshin’s about, this is the succinct description on the site:

What is Blog Nosh Magazine? We are an online magazine featuring the best archived content from primarily personal blogs, spotlighting a cross-section of topics and perspectives. New posts daily.

For bloggers, if it has fallen off of your front page and you know it deserves more time and exposure, we are your ideal resource. We are in the business of building your audience. As such, we republish your posts in full. Teasers and headlines alone aren’t always enough to tempt new readers, so we give them the opportunity to nosh on your writing in its original form, not just through crumbs that don’t entice much click-through.

For readers, we are a veritable blog buffet. A little bit of this, a little more of that, and lots of treats you never thought you would even want to try, let alone enjoy. We hope you will take the time to read posts in categories and channels that you might never seek out on your own. Most importantly, we ask you to take a moment to click through to the blogs of the authors we spotlight. This site only works if the authors feel they are gaining a real reader, not a random one-time hit. Give them a chance– we’ve already taste-tested them for you!

I am a bit of a jane-of-all-trades when it comes to the web. That’s pretty much based on doing web writing, web editing, web site building and web socializing since the early 1990s. (Find out more about me and you can contact me at kelby at typeamom dot net). Here are some of the areas in which I can be hired if you sweet talk me and cough up some cold cash:

• Web site creation - I created all by my little lonesome all of the sites you see listed under “My Sites” to the right. I did all the geeky stuff from programming, design, tweaking templates, tweaking code, and so on.
• Web content - I have been writing web content for longer than most people who offer their services of web content writing. If you need samples, you can find dozens of my latest web articles in that cool red widget to the left under the header “My Feeds.”
• SEO - You don’t have to pay some firm thousands of dollars to, quite frankly, probably do very little for you. And please, I’m begging you, don’t pay one of those shady web site submission services. Ugh! I can do everything from reviewing your site to make SEO recommendations (or seeing whether your current firm is really optimizing your site for search engines) to writing SEO-friendly copy to rewriting your current copy so it’s optimized to creating a search-engine friendly web site.
• Social networking and Web 2.0 - If you want to dabble in this area, be sure you know what you’re doing first (especially if it’s for marketing or PR purposes). If you don’t, you’ll be like that over-eager dork in the class that no one likes, but who thinks he is popular. Just don’t. I can tell you how to be less of a social networking dork, advise you on handling the UGC/ blogging/networking/bookmarking situations out there.
• Blogging set up and consultation - If you want to start a blog, I can set you up with one and/or advise you on how best to approach blogging either for personal, business, non-profit or corporate blogs.
• Consultation on approaching bloggers - OK, here’s a freebie. They don’t want your lame press release. Want to find out what does work? Ask me.
• Whatever other super geeky web thing you can think of. If I don’t know about it, I’m sure I can either (a) figure it out, (b) BS my way through it or (c) already know way more than you ever wanted to know about it.
